Caturra is a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety. It was discovered on a plantation in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil sometime between 1915 and 1918. Caturra has a single-gene mutation that causes the plant to grow smaller (called Dwarf/Compactism).
Caturra is a natural hybrid of Bourbon, one of the world's most culturally and genetically important varieties of arabica coffee.
Flavor: Mild to medium-bodied coffee, touched by a smooth, sweet finish with a hint of cardamom. When you become a casual coffee connoisseur, you may also taste notes of chocolate, honey, almond, and other warm spices like nutmeg.
